Dr. Stacy Shepard

My Story
Dr. Shepard, originally from Goldsboro, NC, holds a BA in English from North Carolina Central University. Commencing her teaching journey in 2007, she excelled as a 6-8 grade Language Arts teacher in Wayne County schools, earning the prestigious Beginning Teacher of the Year award in 2008. Transitioning from the classroom, Dr. Shepard served as a district coach with Wayne County Public Schools, providing crucial support to novice teachers in their initial three years.

In 2014, Dr. Shepard accomplished her PhD in Educational Leadership and Administration from Capella University. Throughout her career, she has assumed diverse roles, including district coach, academic facilitator, testing coordinator, and dean of students with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. In 2019, she took on the role of assistant principal at KIPP North Carolina, where she strives to build partnerships with families, preparing scholars for college, careers, and a future filled with choices.

Beyond her responsibilities as Principal at KIPP North Carolina, Dr. Shepard is a noted author and public speaker. Recognizing the impact of storytelling in education, she empowers young adults and women to realize their full potential by sharing personal childhood stories. Through her writing, Dr. Shepard narrates a tale of struggle, triumph, and new beginnings, encouraging others to see their own beauty in their shattered glass.
